Pinewood Derby

My wonderful husband reminded me this morning that this is the Lewis "family" blog and that the "family" would probably really like it if I would post about the Elders Quorum Pinewood Derby that recently took place. So for the best hubby in the whole world- here ya go...
Trevor is in the EQ presidency and helped plan a fun family pinewood derby. They had two classes: Non-modified (regular pinewood rules) and Super-Modified (darn near anything goes! rules.) The grown-ups had fun making their own cars and lots of the kids brought their cars from past derby's to race. Here is Trev, along with the guy who owns the track, doing all the official race stuff... (Jonah says-"I'm the guy in the green shirt.")

Eli helped at the track, making sure everyone was lined up properly.
The silver car, 2nd from the left, and the gold car, 3rd from the left were 2 of our cars.
Everyone had fun watching...
Noah and some of his buddies with their cars.
The winners...
We raced 3 cars that night. Our cars placed 1st, 3rd & 4th in the non-modified category. The track owner told us that our 1st place car was the fastest he's had on his track and according to his time would have broken the state record. Our guys thought that was awesome! Why didn't my world's-best-engineer husband race a super-modified car, you're wondering? Trev really wanted to build a super-modified car, but he has been ridiculously busy lately and didn't have the time. He was bummed about it, but next time-watch out! We just might win that category too!
